Liswandi memiliki gelar Doktor dalam Manajemen, Universiti Selangor (UNISEL), Selangor, Malaysia. Ia memiliki sekitar 10 tahun pengalaman manajerial sebagai  Operational Manager, Executive Program Officer dan Executive HR Officer. Ia juga memiliki sekitar enam tahun pengalaman sebagai trainer di beberapa lembaga konsultasi di bidang HR dan Service Excellence.

Minat penelitiannya adalah di Area Manajemen Sumber Daya Manusia.
