What's happening in PresUniv

Published: 03 Dec 2021

Since 2020, President University (PresUniv) has implemented a new curriculum, namely Curriculum 2020. Through this curriculum, PresUniv prepares students to pursue three career paths (career streams), namely the professional stream for those who want to have a career as professional executives, mentorship stream for those who want to be an entrepreneur, and a scholarship stream for those who want to become academics or researchers. That is the explanation from Dr. Dra. Fennieka Kristianto, SH, MH, MA, MKn., Vice Rector for Resources of PresUniv in the Career Preparation with Mondelez International webinar, Saturday (27/11). This webinar coincides with the opening of the Career Bootcamp, one of the activities of Program Kompetisi Kampus Merdeka (PKKM) carried out by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. PresUniv is one of the PKKM participants.

The webinar, intended for those who want to have a career as professionals, presents two speakers, namely Munaji Naji, People Lead of MSC Mondelez Indonesia, and Aji Catur Pamungkas, Manufacturing Lead, Mondelez Indonesia. This webinar also presented Maria Jacinta Arquisola, BA, MHRM, PhD, the Career Preparation program coordinator, and the Dean of the Faculty of Business, PresUniv. Jacinta said that students should be able to make their portfolios. To improve their skills, students should not only rely on PresUniv but must dare to find out for themselves. “Start investing in skill development for yourself. One of them is language skills. Mastery of foreign languages, apart from English, will be an added value,” she said. In the next two to three years, she said the world would change, including the needs of the industry in recruiting workers. "So, prepare yourself," said Jacinta.

In this webinar, Munaji said, start to gain experience in organizing, increase agility in learning, and take opportunities, such as internships. "Use the internship well to be able to get more learning in the company," he said. Meanwhile, Aji shared tips on a career as a fresh graduate. First, it must have a core value. Second, be active in organizations to learn how to deal with others and lead a group. Third, look for internship opportunities, build networks, and create a profile on LinkedIn. Lastly, put your passion first. According to Aji, "If we do a job that we like, it will increase our performance, so our position will also increase." (Gilang Suryanata, PR team. Photo: Gilang)
