President University students attended World Tourism Day (WTD) 2019 at National Monument (Monas) on 4 October, 2019. The event that was organized by Ikatan Cendikiawan Pariwisata Indonesia (ICPI) and Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Indonesia Chapter held to raise people’s awareness of the impact of tourism to culture, social, economy, politic, and environment.

President University Lecturers Created Machine to Turn Rice Husk into Briquettes to Increase the Income of Sukamaju Village

At harvest time, the husks produced from the rice milling process are often exposed to the open air and damage the environment. In the long term, this can damage human health. Responding to this fact, a team of lecturers from President University consisting of Nanang Ali Sutisna, M.Eng., Filda Rahmiati, BBA., MBA., and Grace Amin, S.Psi., M.Psi. conducted a research through the Community Partnership Program (Program Kemitraan Masyarakat) entitled "Utilization of Rice Husk Waste into Charcoal Briquettes to Increase the Income of Sukamaju Village, Tambelang District, Bekasi Regency". This research succeeded in getting a grant from the Directorate of Research and Community Service, the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture.

Reviewers from the Director of Quality Assurance, the Directorate General of Learning and Student Affairs (Dirjen Belmawa) of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemristekdikti) visited the President University last Friday (4/10). The visit was carried out in order to assess the progress of implementation and monitor the results of the activities of “Program Asuh Menuju Prodi Unggul tahun 2019” conducted by President University.

The Effect of Fair Competition and the Role of Indonesian Competition Commission (KPPU) to Improve Economic Welfare State

There are two important factors that should be the focus of the government in improving the national economic welfare state. First, the development of domestic micro, small & medium enterprises (MSMEs) which support the national economic development. The second is the creation of a healthy business climate in the country. The two important factors can be achieved as the Indonesian Competition Commission (ICC) present to create a conducive environment for all businesses. This was mentioned by the commissioner of ICC Prof. Dr. Drs. Chandra Setiawan, M.M., Ph.D in a general lecture entitled “The Effect of Fair Competition and the Role of ICC (KPPU) to Improve Economic Welfare State” this morning (4/10).
