On Saturday, March 9, 2024, the Srikandi group, consisting of students from the International Relations Study Program of the Faculty of Humanities at President University (Presuniv), held a socialization event on Empowerment and Protection of Women Facing Domestic Violence in Sirnajati Village & Cisarua Village, Cibarusah District, Bekasi. This activity was one of the assignments for the International Organization course taught by Natasya Kusumawardani, SIP, MProfStuds (Hons).

The purpose of this socialization event was to raise awareness among the community about the importance of empowering and protecting women from domestic violence (KDRT), as well as providing information and access to assistance and protection for the victims. The socialization involved various parties, such as the responsible parties for KDRT programs in the local area, mothers, and community leaders, including the RT, Village Secretary, Bale Perempuan NGO, and others.

The socialization event began with a welcoming speech from the chief organizer of the socialization, Verdatama Aulia Wijaya. This was followed by a presentation by Asma’ul Khusnaeny, SH, MH, as the head of Bale Perempuan Bekasi. In her presentation, Asma’ul Khusnaeny provided insights to the participants about the importance of reporting cases of domestic violence and eliminating the negative stigma associated with it.
