President University (PresUniv) collaborates with the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, six national universities and three foreign universities to form a consortium of Indonesia Higher Education Leader (iHiLead) to support the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka program (MBKM). The iHiLead Kick Off Meeting was held virtually, Tuesday (2/3), attended by Prof. Ir. Nizam. M.Sc., DIC., Ph.D., Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, HE Vincent Piket, MA, Ph.D, Ambassador of the European Union to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam, and David Dawson. Ph.D., FCIPD., SHEA., Director of Master of Arts Higher Education Leadership and Management from the University of Gloucestershire (UoG), United Kingdom, who is also the project leader.

The iHiLead consortium aims to improve the quality of higher education in Indonesia through leadership reforms in higher education. Through this reform, it is hoped that university graduates will be increasingly able to answer the needs of the Business and Industrial. Prof. Nizam explained that the Ministry of Education and Culture has created an MBKM program to improve the quality of higher education in accordance with industry needs. In order to make this program a success, it is necessary to increase leadership capacity in Indonesian universities. “Leadership transformation is very important. Especially at this time where change is happening dynamically. For that, leaders are required to always learn, be creative and adaptive to change," said Prof. Nizam. He highly appreciated the iHiLead consortium which focuses on leadership transformation.

Dawson in his report explained that this project aims to help higher education leaders to find out their skills and how to develop their skills. He explained, the leaders here include the rector, vice rector, deans and heads of study programs, other academic leaders, senior management, including leaders in non-academic fields. Meanwhile, Piket appreciates the collaboration between universities and the government. He also emphasized, "Higher education must be able to solve the needs of community. Konsorsium iHiLead Dukung Kampus Merdeka-Merdeka Belajar

 

President University (PresUniv) berkolaborasi dengan Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi (Dikti), Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Kemendikbud), enam perguruan tinggi nasional dan tiga perguruan tinggi asing membentuk konsorsium Indonesia Higher Education Leader (iHiLead) untuk mendukung implementasi program Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM). Kick Off Meeting iHiLead dilaksanakan secara virtual, Selasa (2/3) dengan dihadiri oleh Prof. Ir. Nizam. M.Sc., DIC., Ph.D., Dirjen Dikti Kemendikbud, HE Vincent Piket, MA, Ph.D,  Duta Besar Uni Eropa untuk Indonesia dan Brunei Darussalam, serta David Dawson. Ph.D., FCIPD., SHEA., Direktur Master of Arts Higher Education Leadership and Management dari University of Gloucestershire (UoG), United Kingdom, yang sekaligus menjadi project leader.

Konsorsium iHiLead bertujuan meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan tinggi di Indonesia melalui reformasi kepemimpinan di lingkungan perguruan tinggi. Melalui reformasi ini diharapkan lulusan perguruan tinggi semakin mampu menjawab kebutuhan Dunia Usaha dan Dunia Industri (DUDI). Prof. Nizam menjelaskan, Kemendikbud telah membuat program MBKM untuk meningkatkan kualitas perguruan tinggi agar sesuai dengan kebutuhan industri. Dalam rangka menyukseskan program ini diperlukan peningkatan kapasitas kepemimpinan di perguruan tinggi di Indonesia. “Transformasi kepemimpinan sangat penting. Apalagi pada saat ini di mana perubahan terjadi secara dinamis. Untuk itu, pemimpin dituntut selalu belajar, kreatif dan adaptif terhadap perubahan,” ujar Prof. Nizam. Ia sangat mengapresiasi konsorsium iHiLead yang fokus pada transformasi kepemimpinan.

Dawson dalam laporannya memaparkan, proyek ini bertujuan membantu pemimpin perguruan tinggi untuk mengetahui skill mereka dan cara mengembangkannya. Jelasnya, di sini pemimpin mencakup rektor, wakil rektor, dekan dan kepala program studi, pimpinan akademik lainnya, kalangan manajemen senior, termasuk para pimpinan di bidang nonakademik. Sementara, Piket mengapresiasi kolaborasi antara perguruan tinggi dengan pemerintah. Ia juga menegaskan, “Perguruan tinggi harus bisa memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat. Kesuksesan perguruan tinggi tergantung dengan bagaimana mereka dapat mendengarkan kebutuhan masyarakat.” (Gilang Suryanata, tim PR)
