Climate change is a complex issue. To control it requires the involvement of many stakeholders: government, community, corporations, and many more. This issue was discussed in the webinar "Best Practices on Climate-tech Start-Up and Sustainable Entrepreneurship to Promote Climate Justice", Friday (26/2). The webinar, a collaboration between President University (PresUniv) with FNF Indonesia and the Climate Institute, presented five speakers, namely M. Sigit Andhi Rahman, International Relations Study Program Lecturer at PresUniv, Rendika Nugraha, mentor at Setsail BizAccel PresUniv, Sabrina Mustopo, CEO and founder of Krakakoa, Melodie Lee, head of CSR for Sun Energy, and Hana Nur Auliana, head of Communications for Waste4Change.

Sigit offers three solutions to overcome this problem, namely innovation, collaboration, and proven cost effective options. He said, “Collaboration is needed because this problem cannot be solved alone. Multi-actor involvement is required. While the cost is a factor in converting the solution into real action." Sigit added that the company must also be able to share its focus fairly between the economy, social and environment. Melodie agrees. She said, Sun Energy conducted a program to provide a solar home system as a form of environmental and social concern.

Hana revealed, Waste4Change has also made information technology-based innovations in developing programs to address environmental problems, such as waste management. "For strategic programs, we collaborate with the government in making policies and educating the public about this issue. We also continue to develop a waste processing program," she said. Meanwhile, Rendika said, PresUniv through Setsail BizAccel helps students to become entrepreneurs who focus on high value entrepreneurship. "This high value means that their business is a solution to various problems, such as environmental, climate or agricultural problems," he explained. (Gilang Suryanata, PR team)

Climate-Tech Start-Up: Entrepreneurship  untuk Atasi Masalah Lingkungan

Perubahan iklim merupakan masalah yang kompleks. Pengendaliannya memerlukan keterlibatan banyak pemangku kepentingan: pemerintah, masyarakat, korporasi, dan masih banyak lagi. Masalah itulah yang dibahas dalam webinar “Best Practices on Climate-tech Start-Up and Sustainable Entrepreneurship to Promote Climate Justice”, Jumat (26/2).
