The President University debate team won two Champion titles again at the national level debate competition. Reynaldo Arya (Law 2018) and Rendy Utomo (International Relations 2015) won first place in the REACH+ UKBA UNP 2020 debate category, entitled "Stay Gold in Pandemic" which is organized by the UNP Foreign Language Activity Unit (Padang State University) on 28 Last November to 30 November. In this competition, each team member also recorded individual achievements in which Rendy was ranked third as Best Speaker and Reynaldo as Best Speaker at 4th place.
About a week earlier, Reynaldo and Rendy, together with Ni Putu Andini (International Relations2017) participated in the USU Games 2020 and won another first place. This competition was held by the Student Affairs Bureau of the University of North Sumatra (USU) on 17-18 November 2020 with the theme "Innovation and Creation of Young Scholars during the Pandemic Period". In this event, Rendy was awarded as the Overall Best Speaker, Reynaldo as the 6th Best Speaker, and Ni Putu Andini as the 8th Best Speaker.
“We really didn't expect to win the first place, especially for the REACH+ competition, considering the competitiveness is quite high. Even so, the PresUniv debate team has been trained for this kind of debate competition, so we have also been prepared sp that we could achieve the best results," said Aldo. (GN/SL)
Tim Debat President University Raih Dua Gelar Champion Tingkat Nasional
Tim debat perwakilan President University (PresUniv) lagi-lagi merebut dua gelar Champion pada kompetisi debat tingkat nasional. Reynaldo Arya (Prodi Hukum 2018) dan Rendy Utomo (Prodi Hubungan Internasional 2015) berhasil meraih juara pertama dalam REACH+ UKBA UNP 2020 kategori debat, bertajuk “Stay Gold in Pandemic” yang diselenggarakan oleh Unit Kegiatan Bahasa Asing UNP (Universitas Negeri Padang) pada 28 November hingga 30 november lalu. Pada kompetisi ini, masing-masing anggota tim turut mencatat prestasi secara individu dimana Rendy menduduki peringkat ketiga Best Speaker dan Reynaldo sebagai Best Speaker di peringkat ke-4.
Sekitar sepekan sebelumnya, Reynaldo bersama Rendy dan Ni Putu Andini (Prodi Hubungan Internasional 2017) berpartisipasi dalam USU Games 2020 dan berhasil meraih gelar champion lainnya. Kompetisi ini diadakan oleh Biro Kemahasiswaan Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) pada 17-18 November 2020 dengan mengusung tema “Inovasi dan Kreasi Cendekiawan Muda di Masa Pandemi”. Pada ajang ini, Rendy diberikan penghargaan sebagai Overall Best Speaker, Reynaldo sebagai 6th Best Speaker, dan Ni Putu Andini sebagai 8th Best Speaker.
“Kami sebenarnya sangat tidak menyangka dapat meraih gelar champion, terutama untuk kompetisi REACH+, mengingat persaingannya cukup ketat. Meski begitu, tim debat PresUniv sudah sering dilatih untuk kompetisi debat semacam ini, sehingga kami juga sudah lebih siap dan meraih hasil yang terbaik,” ujar Aldo. (GN/SL)
