Lovena Louisa and Fauzan Hanafi, President University Actuarial Study Program students batch 2018 won first place in the student and general categories at the 2020 Infographic Competition Actuarial Fair (ICAF), an infographic competition organized by the Actuarial Student Association of Padjadjaran University (HIMAKTU UNPAD). This event was held online on 13 September - 1 November 2020 and took the grand theme "Prospek Ilmu Aktuaria di Masa Depan" with various sub-themes.
In this event, Lovena and Fauzan chose the sub-theme "Aktuaria dalam Bidang Asuransi Jiwa" and competed with their creation entitled "Yuk Lirik Profesi Aktuaria Langka di Asuransi Jiwa". In their work, they explain the meaning of actuarial and actuary, describe the job description of an actuary in the field of life insurance, and include interesting facts about the number of actuaries needed by the life insurance companies in Indonesia. According to Lovena, the prospect of actuarial in life insurance is important to be discussed further, so they chose to explore more about life insurance.
Although they compete with many well-known universities in Indonesia, such as the University of Indonesia, Gadjah Mada University, and the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology, Lovena and Fauzan did not feel discouraged. "At first we were very pessimistic about winning the competition because when our work was posted in the IG of Actuarial Fair, there were lots of works that were better than ours," she said. "But we tried our best and we unexpectedly got first place. It was very unexpected and made us very happy,” she added.
With this outstanding achievement at ICAF, Lovena and Fauzan hope that the other student, especially from Actuarial Science President University, can be motivated and follow their footsteps to make brilliant achievements. (PT/SL/SD)
Lovena dan Fauzan Raih Juara I Ajang ICAF 2020
Lovena Louisa dan Fauzan Hanafi, mahasiswa Program Studi Aktuaria, President University batch 2018, berhasil meraih Juara I kategori mahasiswa dan umum pada Infographic Competition Actuarial Fair (ICAF) 2020, sebuah kompetisi infografis yang diselenggarakan oleh Himpunan Mahasiswa Aktuaria Universitas Padjadjaran (HIMAKTU UNPAD). Kompetisi ini dilaksanakan secara online pada 13 September - 1 November 2020, dan mengambil tema "Prospek Ilmu Aktuaria di Masa Depan" dengan berbagai sub-tema. Pada ajang ini, Lovena dan Fauzan memilih sub-tema “Aktuaria dalam Bidang Asuransi Jiwa”. Keduanya mempresentasikan karya yang bertajuk "Ayo Lirik Profesi Aktuaria Langka di Asuransi Jiwa". Dalam karyanya tersebut, mereka menjelaskan pengertian aktuaria dan aktuaris, mendeskripsikan job description seorang aktuaris di bidang asuransi jiwa, serta mencantumkan fakta menarik tentang jumlah aktuaris yang sebenarnya dibutuhkan oleh perusahaan asuransi jiwa di Indonesia. Menurut Lovena, prospek aktuaria di bidang asuransi jiwa penting untuk dibahas lebih lanjut. Itu sebabnya mereka memilih untuk mengulik lebih dalam tentang asuransi jiwa. Bersaing dengan banyak peserta dari universitas negeri ternama di Indonesia, seperti Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Gadjah Mada, dan Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Lovena dan Fauzan tetap optimistis. “Kami mem-posting karya kami di Instagram Actuarial Fair. Di sana banyak sekali karya mahasiswa lain yang juga sangat bagus,” ungkapnya, seraya melanjutkan, “Dan, tidak disangka ternyata karya kami mendapat Juara I. Ini tentu membuat kami sangat gembira.” Beranjak dari capaian di ICAF 2020, Lovena dan Fauzan berharap agar para mahasiswa Aktuaria di University dapat termotivasi dan mengikuti jejak mereka mengukir prestasi yang gemilang.
