Currently investment service and financial service are made easier by the presence of technology. The need for fast and secure transactions and investments has made Financial Technology or commonly known as Fintech popular and in demand by many workers. To discuss further about Fintech, President University together with the University of Glasgow, UK held a webinar with the theme "Career Opportunity in Financial Technology Sector" recently (19/10).
This webinar invites Dr. Ramona Blanes, Lecturer at the Department of International Business and Service Management, University of Glasgow as a speaker to discuss career opportunities in the field of Fintech.
In her session, Dr. Ramona said that if you want to work in the Fintech sector, you don't have to have a background in economics because its wide range of coverage. She’s mentioned several jobs in the Fintech sector that currently exist include Product Manager, Cybersecurity, Data Specialist, Risk and Compliance Officers, and Quantitatve Analyst. Meanwhile, the jobs that will be available in the future are Blockchain Developer, App developer and Artificial Intelligence.
Furthermore, Dr. Ramona also explained that there are basic skills that must be possessed if you want to work in the sector of Fintech, namely Communication, Adaptability, Problem-Solving, and Collaborative. Apart from several jobs in the Fintech field, there are also several businesses that can be created in the field of Fintech such as Digital Wallets, Asset Management and others.
This webinar was then closed by Alfin Fahdi Firdaus, B. Bus (Marketing), Grad. Certificate (HRM), International Officer (Indonesia) from the University of Glasgow. In this occasion, he explained that with the collaboration between the University of Glasgow and President University, President University students and alumni will have the opportunity to obtain postgraduate scholarships at the University of Glasgow.
Through this webinar, President University hopes that students will get inspiration and direction to choose the career field they want to pursue and get information about scholarships for further study which will certainly support their future careers. (LG)

Dalam sesinya, Dr. Ramona menyebutkan bahwa jika ingin bekerja di bidang Fintech, Anda tidak harus mempunyai latar belakang di bidang ekonomi karena cakupannya yang luas. Ia menyebutkan beberapa pekerjaan di bidang Fintech yang sudah ada saat ini diantaranya adalah Product Manager, Cybersecurity, Data Specialist, Risk and Compliance Officers, dan Quantitative Analyst. Sedangkan untuk pekerjaaan yang akan tersedia di waktu mendatang adalah Blockchain Developer, App developer dan Artifical Intelligence.
Lebih lanjut, Dr. Ramona juga menjelaskan bahwa terdapat kemampuan dasar yang harus dimilki jika ingin bekerja di bidang Fintech yaitu Communication, Adaptability, Problem-Solving, dan Collaborative. Selain beberapa pekerjaan di bidang Fintech, terdapat juga beberapa usaha yang dapat diciptakan dalam bidang Fintech seperti Digital Wallets, Asset Magagement dan lain-lainnya.
Webinar ini kemudian ditutup oleh Alfin Fahdi Firdaus, B.Bus(Marketing), Grad. Certificate (HRM), International Officer (Indonesia) dari University of Glasgow. Pada kesempatan ini, ia menjelaskan bahwa dengan adanya jalinan kerja sama antara University of Glasgow dan President University, mahasiswa dan alumni President University akan mendapat kesempatan untuk meraih beasiswa pascasarjana di University of Glasgow.
