Investor Magazine just held their annual event “2020 Investor Best Sharia Awards” to appreciate the sharia industry in Indonesia, both in the category of institutions or financial products, as well as the people who contribute to the development of the sharia industry in Indonesia. Dr. Josep Ginting, CFA., a lecturer at the Accounting Study Program President University was awarded as the 2020 Sharia Economic Figure in the Academic category.
This award won by Dr. Josep Ginting, CFA. is supported by his outstanding contribution to the world of the sharia industry. He is a lecturer in Sharia Risk Management at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia, and also Islamic Finance in Management Study Program at President University. Besides his experience as a lecturer for many years, he was a leader in the creation and design of statistical calculations for the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) back in 1999 which began operating on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in July 2000. In this industry, he has devised a sensitivity formula for the assessment of the Behavior of Bonds Pricing that has been received by the AIP Scopus Proceedings, which is also applied in the bonds analysis process in this event.
On the other hand, Dr. Josep Ginting, CFA. also contributes to the development of the mutual funds industry. He was the first fund manager for Reksadana Danareksa Saham in 1996 and the criteria designer for Sharia Mutual Funds and Bonds (SUKUK) for 15 years already.
Through this award, he hopes that the sharia economic system in Indonesia can further develop and help to drive the national economy since the conventional financial industry is currently getting worse caused by risk management. Therefore, the Islamic economy is expected to invite investment funds from the Middle East and countries around to strengthen the industry in Indonesia, as well as to support strengthening the rupiah. Moreover, he hopes that the concept of sharia can develop to be universal, cross-cultural, across religions and beliefs so that all society levels could feel the benefits as well. (GN/SL).

Majalah Investor kembali mengadakan “Investor Best Syariah Awards 2020” guna mengapresiasi industri syariah di Indonesia baik dalam kategori institusi, produk keuangan, maupun tokoh-tokoh yang berkontribusi dalam perkembangan industri syariah di Indonesia. Dr. Josep Ginting, CFA., seorang dosen Program Studi Akuntansi President University berhasil mendapatkan penghargaan sebagai Tokoh Ekonomi Syariah 2020 untuk kategori Akademisi.
Penghargaan yang diraih Dr. Josep Ginting, CFA. didukung dengan kontribusinya yang luar biasa dalam dunia industri syariah. Beliau adalah seorang pengajar Risk Management Syariah di Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Indonesia, dan Islamic Finance di Program Studi Manajemen President Univeristy. Selain menjadi pengajar selama bertahun-tahun, beliau juga adalah seorang pemimpin pembuatan dan desain perhitungan statistik untuk Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) tahun 1999 yang mulai dioperasikan di Bursa Efek Indonesia pada bulan Juli 2000. Dalam industri ini, beliau telah merancangkan rumusan sensitifitas untuk penilaian Behavior of Bonds Pricing yang sudah diterima oleh Proceeding AIP scopus yang turut diaplikasikan dalam proses analisa obligasi di ajang ini.
Begitu pula halnya dengan dunia reksadana, beliau merupakan fund manager pertama untuk Reksadana Danareksa Saham di tahun 1996, dan sudah menjadi perancang kriteria Reksadana dan Obligasi Syariah (SUKUK) selama 15 tahun.
Melalui penghargaan yang diraihnya, beliau berharap system ekonomi syariah dapat semakin berkembang sebagai salah satu penggerak ekonomi nasional, karena industri keuangan konvensional saat ini terlalu terpuruk akibat manajemen resiko. Oleh karena itu, ekonomi syariah diharapkan mengundang dana investasi dari timur tengah dan sekitarnya untuk menguatkan industri di Indonesia juga mendukung penguatan rupiah. Terlebih, beliau berharap konsep syariah dapat berkembang hingga bersifat universal, lintas kultural, lintas agama dan kepercayaan agar semua pihak turut terkena manfaatnya. (GN/SL)
