What's happening in PresUniv
Finland, which is located close to the north pole, makes it very different from Indonesia, which is lying on the equator. If Finland is famous for its dry and cold air, Indonesia is known as a tropical country that is exposed to the sunlight all year round.
This climate difference will then be discussed in joint research which will be conducted by lecturers from President University and the University of Turku Finland. The initiation of this collaboration was discussed at a meeting attended by representatives from both parties in Jakarta recently.
With the theme "Migrating Tourism", the research wants to find out the effects of people who are moving from cold climates to tropical climates. Furthermore, this study focuses on senior citizens who are doing Migrating Tourism.
The representatives of President University who attended the meeting were Vice Rector for Partnerships Handa S. Abidin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D., Lecturer of Electrical Engineering Ir. Adhi Widjaja, M.Sc., and Director of Partnerships Marissa Astika, B. Sc., M.B.A.
Finlandia yang letaknya sudah hampir mendekati kutub utara membuatnya sangat berbeda dengan Indonesia yang terletak di garis khatulistiwa. Jika Finlandia terkenal dengan udaranya yang kering dan dingin, Indonesia dikenal dengan negara tropis yang mendapatkan sinar matahari sepanjang tahun.
Perbedaan iklim inilah yang kemudian akan dibahas dalam joint research yang akan dilakukan oleh para pengajar dari President University dan University of Turku Finlandia. Inisiasi kerja sama ini dibahas dalam pertemuan yang dihadiri perwakilan dari kedua pihak di Jakarta baru-baru ini.
Dengan tema “Migrating Tourism”, penelitian ingin mengetahui efek dari penduduk yang berpindah dari tempat beriklim dingin ke tempat beriklim tropis. Lebih lanjut, penelitian ini fokus kepada penduduk lanjut usia yang melakukan Migrating Tourism.
Adapun perwakilan dari President University yang hadir dalam pertemuan ini adalah Wakil Rektor Bidang Kerja Sama Handa S. Abidin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D., Pengajar Teknik Elektro Ir. Adhi Widjaja, M.Sc.,, dan Kepala Biro Kerja Sama Marissa Astika, B. Sc., M.B.A.
