On Tuesday, March 19 2024, President University (Presuniv) held a Presidential Lecture with the title What is a Company? This guest lecture was held at the Fabrication Laboratory (Fablab), President University Convention Center (PUCC), Jl. H. Usmar Ismail, Jababeka City, Cikarang. The speaker this time was Prof. James Hoopes, Murata Professor of Ethics in Business at Babson College. Present at the event was Dr. Drs. Chandra Setiawan, MM, Ph.D., as Chair of the Supervisors of the Presidential University Education Foundation, Dr. Iman Permana, BS (PE), MM, as Dean of the Faculty of Business, and Ruhmaya Nida Wathoni, BBA, M.Sc, Supervisor of the President Research Center who was also the Master of Ceremony for the event, as well as several students and lecturers.
In his opening remarks, Iman Permana said, “Learn and remember that ethics is above everything. We have to instill this in ourselves.” Meanwhile, in his presentation, Prof. Hoopes emphasized how important it is to have good ethics. "Virtues can eventually become an advantage," he stressed. He then explained about Personal Identities. "So, what makes us exist?" asked Prof. Hoopes. “That is our identity. So, what forms our identity?
