What's happening in PresUniv

What if the law does not align with reality or is not easily implementable? If that happens, what should be done? These were the topics discussed in the seminar titled "Aligning Law in Books and Law in Action" at the Charles Himawan Auditorium, 5th floor, Building A, President University Campus (Presuniv) on Jl. Ki Hajar Dewantara, Kota Jababeka, Cikarang, on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. The seminar featured Dr. Muhammad Yasin, SH, MH, a senior journalist from Hukum Online, as the keynote speaker, and was facilitated by Dr. Ir. Robert Pangihutan Radjagoekgoek, S.Sos., SH, MH, CLI, CLA, a lecturer from the Law Program, Faculty of Humanities, Presuniv.

Responding to the earlier question, Yasin recounted a case that occurred in a village in Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. There were some illiterate villagers who couldn't speak Indonesian but were assumed to know the law. "This is clearly unfair. Faced with such a reality, the harmonization of Law in Action and Law in Books is necessary," he explained. And there are various similar cases published on Hukum Online.

According to Dwi Indah, Hukum Online's Customer Experience Specialist, with the existence of the Hukum Online Corner, law students can access legal analyses published at regular intervals. The Hukum Online Corner is expected to enrich students' insights and bridge their understanding of Law in Books and how it is different from Law in Action. (Graciella V, PR team. Photo: Graciella V).
