On Thursday, January 25, 2024, the Russian Ambassador to Indonesia, HE Lyudmila Georgievna Vorobieva, delivered a lecture at President University (Presuniv). The talk focused on the geopolitical dynamics in the Asia-Pacific region from Russia's viewpoint and Russia relationship with Indonesia. The guest lecture took place at the Fabrication Laboratory (Fablab), located in the President University Convention Centre Building on Jl. H. Usmar Ismail in the Jababeka industrial sector of Cikarang. Approximately 100 participants were present at the guest lecture. The group comprised teachers, staff, and students from the International Relations Study Programme at the Faculty of Humanities, Presuniv. Additionally, in attendance at the guest lecture session were Dr. Evi Sopandi, M.Pd., the Head of Cooperation Programmes at Global Thinkers Institute, Laila Indriyanti Fitria, M.Si., the Secretary of the Jabodetabek Regional Coordinator for the Indonesian International Relations Association, who also serves as a lecturer in International Relations at Jayabaya University, Jakarta, along with various other invited guests.

            In  his opening remarks, Drs. Muhammad AS Hikam, MA, Ph.D., the Head of the International Relations Programme, emphasised the significance of the longstanding collaboration between Indonesia and Russia. "Russia and Indonesia, as global partners, offer distinct opportunities to uphold regional and global stability through dialogue, cooperation, and mutual comprehension."

            Ambassador Lyudmila's highlighted several collaborations that have been forged between Indonesia and Russia. "Indonesia has engaged in multiple collaborative projects with Russia." These include the establishment of an oil refinery in Tuban, East Java, as well as the construction of a railway in East Kalimantan. Ambassador Lyudmila stated that the Krakatau Steel facility was established through collaboration between Indonesia and Russia, among other projects. She stated that if Indonesia is prepared, Russia is eager to assist in the establishment of nuclear power facilities. Ambassador Lyudmila also addressed the Ukraine-Russia war, providing clarification on certain issues from the perspective  of Russia. (Graciella, PR Team. Translated by Sarahwati. Photo by Graciella).
