The Faculty of Business at President University (Presuniv) once again organized International Conference on Family Business and Entrepreneurship (ICFBE) from November 30 to December 1, 2023, at Hotel Raia in Kuching, Sarawak. This is the 7th conference held since its inception in 2017, the conference, themed Moving Forward, Moving Upward: Resilience and Innovation for Family Business and SMEs, has been a significant platform for discussions. Unlike previous editions held in Bali, this year's international conference took place outside Indonesia. According to Maria Jacinta Arquisola, MHRM, Ph.D., Vice Rector of Presuniv for Resources and Chairman of ICFBE 2023, "This marks a milestone for both ICFBE and Presuniv, as it is the first time ICFBE is held outside Indonesia."

At the hybrid ICFBE, Presuniv collaborated with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Malaysia, and Universitas Tanjungpura, Pontianak, West Kalimantan. The conference attracted participants and speakers from various countries, including the United States, Australia, Hungary, India, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Slovenia, and Taiwan. Dr. Ayman El Tarabhishy, President & CEO of the International Council for Small Business (ICSB), Prof. Ki-chan Kim, International Rector of Presuniv, Datuk Dr. Muhammad Abdullah bin Zaidel, Deputy State Secretary for Economic Planning and Development in Sarawak, Malaysia, Mayor Jinju of South Korea, Kyoo-il Jo, and Datuk Dr. Mohamad Kadim Suadi, Vice Chancellor of Universiti Sarawak, Malaysia, were all present for the opening of ICFBE 2023.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Chairy stated that Presuniv organizes ICFBE to accelerate collaboration among academics, government officials, and practitioners to enhance the performance of family businesses and entrepreneurship in Indonesia.
