What's happening in PresUniv
On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, a group of students from the Business Administration Study Programme, Faculty of Business at President University (Presuniv), visited PT SGMW Motor Indonesia, the company that manufactures vehicles under the Wuling brand, located in the Greenland International Industrial Center in Deltamas, Cikarang, Bekasi. The visit included two Business Administration Study Programme faculty members, Roy Poan, B.Sc., MBM, and Agus Fernando, Ph.D.
During the factory visit, the SGMW team provided details of the company's vision, activities, its shareholders, its business operations in Indonesia, and its efforts in human resource development. The Business Administration Study Programme group was then taken on a tour to observe the vehicle production facilities, which utilise the Global Manufacturing System (GMS) concept from General Motors. Built on a 60-hectare site, the SGMW plant comprises four production facilities: Press Shop, Body Shop, Paint Shop, and General Assembly.
At the end of the visit, Albert Samuel Kristianto, a graduate of the Business Administration Study Programme who currently works at SGMW, shared his experiences from his career at Wuling. Albert recounted that he initially started as an intern at the company. Due to his excellent performance during the internship, Albert was eventually offered a full-time position at SGMW.
