Tuesday (14/12), Dr.Eng. Ir. Rudi Suhradi Rahmat, M.Eng., a lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering Study Program, President University (PresUniv), was a speaker at the Sakura Science Exchange Program 2021. This program was organized by PresUniv in collaboration with the Japan Science and Technology Foundation. There are two activities for the program, namely an online workshop and symposium on December 13-16, 2021. Apart from Rudi Suhradi, the program, which aims to provide new insights on current technological developments, presents another speaker, namely Stefanus Julius Junaedi from Teikyo University.

In this program, Rudi presented the results of his research with Dr.Eng. Lydia Anggraini, S.T., M.Eng., Head of Mechanical Engineering Study Program, PresUniv, about dredge backet. He explained, the casting dredge backet using a target chemical composition when compared to JIS ScMn H11 showed almost the same results for tensile strength. "For the dredge backet it reaches 74 kg/mm2, while the JIS ScMn H11 is 76 kg/mm2," said Rudi. Meanwhile, for the experimental hardness, Rudi explained, it was very significantly different from JIS ScMn H11. For the microstructure experiment of the experimental results by quenching, it appears that there was a martensite phase.

Meanwhile, Stefanus delivered material on the Study of Diesel Combustion Simulation by Evaporative Spray Measurement in High Temperature and High-Pressure Vessel. The spraying and burning simulation uses the evaporation spray in the spraying simulation, which is used as the main injection parameter in the combustion simulation. One of the visible results, said Stefanus, is that the spray penetration of the spray measurement on high temperature and high-pressure condition was longer than the spray penetration on normal temperature and high-pressure condition.
