SetSail BizAccel, President University (PresUniv), again held a workshop for the participants of Ready SetSail Batch 1, Monday (6/12). Ready SetSail Batch 1 is an intensive business mentoring program for six months for nine startups owned by PresUniv students. This workshop presented two speakers, namely Roy Poan, B. Sc., MBM, lecturer of the Business Administration Study Program, PresUniv, and Donna Herliana, Online Community Engagement Supervisor from BukuKas, a financial bookkeeping application. This workshop was guided by Ruhmaya Nida Wathoni, Project Manager of Setsail BizAccel.

In this workshop, Roy conveyed the steps in budget preparations. First, determine the goals and objectives of the business. Second, determine the timeline and make sure of the deadline. Then, it is also important to have assumptions in doing business. Fourth, separate the money for business and personal. "Most people cannot manage between business and personal needs, so their financial management is messy," said Roy. Last, make a comparison to developing the business by analyzing competitors, such as strategies, methodologies, and costs.

Meanwhile, according to Donna, undisciplined financial records in business are also the main cause of messy financial management, apart from mixing personal and business finances. “Financial record is very important in running a business. It contains the recording of money and transactions that occur in the business, both purchase or sale transactions and payables also receivables," she explained. Donna continued, financial records must be done with discipline. "Do not often make financial records that should be every day become every week or month, so that there are misses in recording or only recording large expenses," she said.
