Monday (23/8), President University (PresUniv) welcomed 1,944 new students from the 2021 batch was packaged in a Pre University event entitled "We Prepare Your Career from Day 1." This event will be held for three days (23-25 August 2021). On this occasion, Handa S. Abidin, SH, LL.M., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Academics and Student Affairs, explained PresUniv's new curriculum, namely the 2020 Curriculum. Handa said the curriculum was prepared based on input from stakeholders and aspirations. After graduating, students want a career in three paths: entrepreneurs, professional executives, or academics/researchers.

Referring to the curriculum, in the first year, all students will focus on learning that enhances soft skills, such as Emotional Intelligence, Integrated Survival Experience, Digital Literacy, Coding and Big Data, Psychology, including Statepersonship, which is a combination of Pancasila, Religion and Indonesian Language courses, but in applied form. Only in the second year, said Handa, “Students will receive hard skills or technical knowledge according to their respective study programs. For example, students of the Accounting study program will learn technical matters of accounting, auditing, financial management, taxation and so on.”

Entering the 3rd year, participating in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka program from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, students can choose courses outside their study program, but still at PresUniv, which is followed by the internship program. Handa explained, “For students who want to become professional executives, they can do internships in various companies. If they want to become entrepreneurs, students are directed to join the PresUniv business incubator, namely SetSail BizAccel.” Meanwhile, for those interested in becoming researchers or academics, continued Handa, they can do internships in various research institutions or become assistant lecturers at PresUniv. Furthermore, according to the Kampus Merdeka concept, there are still several other options, such as student exchanges, working on projects in villages, teaching in schools, participating in humanitarian projects, and working on projects or independent studies. After all, students will work on the Final Project. Handa explained, “The Final Project can be in the form of a thesis, developing a product, writing an article in a journal, and so on. Students do everything under the guidance of a lecturer.” (Gilang Suryanata, team PR. Photo: Silvia Betrice)
