Currently, the Covid-19 pandemic is still ongoing in Indonesia. Many businessmen have closed their businesses in the past year because they could not survive the pandemic. However, business people have experienced an increase in income through various marketing strategies, such as Wijaya Cellular, a mobile phone buying and selling shop. Sutan Wijaya, S.Ars., MM, the owner of Wijaya Cellular, shared his experiences in maintaining a business during a pandemic through a Business Strategy webinar held by President University (PresUniv) with the title Strategy of Maintaining and Developing Business in the Middle of a Pandemic, Saturday (24/4) ).

Sutan said that his business started from a small shop that he rented. At that time, he received negative comments from those around him. "Many people gave negative comments because I graduated with an economics degree but preferred to sell pulses," he said. Thanks to his hard work, the business experienced a significant increase in income. When the Covid-19 pandemic entered Indonesia, Sutan chose to survive even though he knew the risk would be substantial. He implemented a sales strategy by giving a motorcycle prize draw if he made a transaction at his shop.

His business generated an extraordinary income through this promo that made Wijaya Cellular open four other branches. Sutan also provides tips to help survive the pandemic, namely distribution, analysis of consumer needs data, Human Resources (HR), and Brand Image. "The promo that my shop does not mean that it can be followed, but it is also necessary to review the situation because it could have a negative impact on your business," he added. Bisnis Bertahan di Tengah Pandemi? Bisa!

 

Saat ini, pandemi Covid-19 masih berlangsung di Indonesia. Dalam satu tahun terakhir, banyak pebisnis yang menutup usahanya karena tidak sanggup untuk bertahan di tengah pandemi. Namun, ada juga pebisnis yang justru mengalami kenaikan pendapatan melalui berbagai strategi marketing, seperti Wijaya Cellular, sebuah toko jual beli handphone. Sutan Wijaya, S.Ars., M.M., Owner of Wijaya Cellular, berbagi pengalamannya mempertahankan bisnis di tengah pandemi melalui webinar Business Strategy yang diadakan oleh President University (PresUniv) dengan tajuk Strategi Mempertahankan dan Mengembangkan Bisnis di Tengah Pandemi, Sabtu (24/4).

Sutan menceritakan, bisnisnya bermula dari sebuah toko kecil yang ia sewa. Saat itu, ia mendapatkan komentar negatif dari orang di sekitarnya. “Banyak yang memberikan komentar negatif karena saya lulusan sarjana ekonomi tetapi lebih memilih untuk berjualan pulsa,” ujarnya. Berkat kerja kerasnya, usaha tersebut mengalami peningkatan pendapatan yang signifikan. Saat pandemi Covid-19 masuk ke Indonesia, Sutan memilih untuk mencoba bertahan walaupun tahu resikonya akan besar. Ia melakukan strategi penjualan dengan memberikan undian berhadiah sepeda motor jika melakukan transaksi di tokonya.

Melalui promo tersebut, bisnisnya memberikan pemasukan yang luar biasa hingga membuat Wijaya Cellular membuka empat cabang lainnya. Sutan juga memberikan tips untuk membantu survive di tengah pandemi, yaitu distribusi, analisis data kebutuhan konsumen, Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM), dan Brand Image. “Promo yang toko saya lakukan tidak berarti bisa langsung diikuti, tetapi perlu juga peninjauan situasi karena bisa saja justru memberikan dampak negatif untuk bisnis yang kalian miliki,” tambahnya.
