Career at Top Law Firm
President University (PresUniv) held a webinar on Corporate Lawyering in a Top Law Firm in Indonesia, Wednesday (28/4). This webinar invites two speakers working in law firms, namely Handa S. Abidin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D., and Kreshna Yuditya Rahmat, S.H., M.B.A., Lecturer of the PresUniv Law Study Program. Handa explained that a large law firm's essential context could be seen from two aspects, namely the professional aspect and the social aspect. "The professional aspect looks at how complex the project is handled, the innovation, and how big the jurisdiction and its impact, while the social aspect looks at whether the law firm gives something to the community," he explained.
Meanwhile, Kreshna shared that he worked at a law firm to realize his dream of becoming a finance lawyer. Currently, Kreshna has more than ten years of experience working at Hadiputro, Hadinoto & Partners (HHP), a law firm. For this reason, Kreshna knows very well why HHP has become the top law firm to date. Kreshna said several things make HHP a top law firm, namely a meritification system, a system that tends to be egalitarian, the absence of office politics, a clear Key Performance Indicator (KPI), and the existence of a curriculum at every level. He emphasized, "The meritocracy system not only becomes a slogan but is reflected in the process of regeneration and promotion."
Kreshna revealed that HHP employees are always taught to think critically and argue with them while still having a family spirit to reach a solution and a spirit to work together. "In addition, HHP has implemented a clear system in the division of practice specializations so that it is by their respective fields, and HHP also collaborates with Baker McKenzie," he added. At the end of the webinar, Kreshna emphasized, "The learning process is a continuous process, learning not only from formal institutions but also from non-formal ones. President University (PresUniv) mengadakan webinar Coporate Lawyering in a Top Law Firm in Indonesia, Rabu (28/4). Webinar ini mengundang dua pembicara yang sudah berpengalaman bekerja di law firm, yaitu Handa S. Abidin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D., dan Kreshna Yuditya Rahmat, S.H., M.B.A., Dosen Program Studi (Prodi) Hukum PresUniv. Handa menjelaskan, konteks dasar sebuah law firm besar dapat dilihat dari dua aspek, yaitu aspek profesional dan aspek sosial. “Aspek profesional ini melihat seberapa kompleks proyek yang di handle, inovasi, dan seberapa besar yurisdiksi serta dampaknya sedangkan aspek sosial melihat apakah law firm tersebut memberikan sesuatu ke masyarakat,” jelasnya.
Sementara, Kreshna bercerita, ia bekerja di law firm untuk mewujudkan cita-citanya sebagai seorang finance lawyer. Saat ini, Kreshna telah mempunyai pengalaman bekerja selama lebih dari sepuluh tahun di Hadiputro, Hadinoto & Partners (HHP), sebuah law firm. Untuk itu, Kreshna sangat mengetahui mengapa HHP bisa menjadi top law firm hingga saat ini. Kreshna mengatakan, terdapat beberapa hal yang membuat HHP menjadi top law firm, yaitu sistem meritorikasi, sistem yang cenderung egaliter, tidak adanya office politic, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) yang jelas, dan adanya kurikulum di setiap level. Ia menekankan, “Sistem meritokrasi, tidak hanya menjadi sebuah slogan namun tercermin dari proses kaderisasi dan promosi jabatan.”
Kreshna mengungkapkan, karyawan HHP juga selalu diajarkan untuk berpikir kristis dan beradu pendapat dengan tetap memiliki semangat kekeluargaan untuk mencapai suatu solusi dan spirit untuk bekerja sama. “Selain itu, HHP telah menerapkan sistem yang jelas dalam pembagian spesialisasi praktek sehingga sesuai dengan bidangnya masing-masing dan HHP juga melakukan kerjasama dengan Baker McKenzie,” tambahnya. Pada akhir webinar, Kreshna menegaskan, “Proses belajar adalah proses yang berkelanjutan, belajar tidak hanya dari institusi formal tetapi juga dari non formal.
