What's happening in PresUniv

Published: 03 Jun 2020

Entering the middle of 2020, many prospective new students are enthusiastically looking to find information about the majors and universities that they aim to enroll in to continue their education. The Department of Electrical Engineering, President University gladly welcomed this enthusiasm. Answering the curiosity of the prospective students, some alumni of President University Electrical Engineering Study Program attended the event entitled A Day in the Life of the Electrical Engineering Study Program organized by the Admissions Team (19/5). They shared their university life experience and their career in the electronics field.

Through an online meeting, a President University Electrical Engineering alumnus shared his experience of studying at President University. One of the most interesting experiences he discussed was about how the lectures were carried out entirely in English. "Before I started my studies at this university, my TOEFL score was just under 200. And now that I have graduated, I managed to reach 600s because I actively used English in college. There is no need to be embarrassed about speaking in English, you should definitely practice it continuously," said one of the alumni, M. Yeza Baihaqi. He explained that the matriculation program provided by President University before starting the academic year was one way to adapt to the English speaking international environment

Another story came from Alexander William, a 2010 President University alumnus who was active as a student during his university life. The soft skills and hard skills that he learned in the classroom as well as by actively participating in campus organization had well prepared him to enter the professional world. He also mentioned that his advanced English language skill helped him to easily adapt to the postgraduate study life abroad, especially because the research master's program required him to actively communicate with his lecturers. Being the best graduate in his class, Alexander received his Master's degree at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and is currently undergoing further doctoral studies at Kanazawa University, Japan.

This event was welcomed enthusiastically by the 2020 prospective students of President University with many questions relating to the major itself and life as Electrical Engineering students, as well as the potential opportunities for further study. (VE/APW)

A Day in the Life of Electrical Engineering Study Program

Menjawab rasa penasaran calon mahasiswa baru, sejumlah alumni Teknik Elektro President University hadir dalam acara acara bertajuk A Day in the Life of Electrical Engineering Study Program yang diorganisir oleh Tim Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru President University (19/5).
