Continue to inspire students to have an entrepreneurial spirit, President Univesity held a guest lecture entitled "Retail Logistics and Competitive Advantage" on 29 March 2019. This guest lecture presented the CEO of PT Idcommerce Service Solution, a robot-based warehouse and logistics service provider company, Charles Liem.
In this seminar, Charles gave an explanation of the logistical issues in the retail business. According to him, without logistics, retail business needs cannot be met. Without a retail business, the logistics business cannot run because there are no goods delivered or moved.
In addition, Charles who previously worked at J&T, one of the most prominent shipping company in Indonesia, also shared his experience in working as an employee until he finally opened his own startup company, ID Commerce. He revealed that the logistics sector holds great potential to be developed by startup companies.
Charles, who is also a 2012 President University alumni, hopes that his story can strengthen students' knowledge and inspire them to become successful entrepreneurs.
Terus berupaya menginspirasi mahasiswanya untuk memiliki jiwa kewirausahaan, President Univesity mengadakan kuliah tamu berjudul “Retail Logistics and Competitive Advantage” pada 29 Maret 2019. Kuliah tamu ini menghadirkan CEO PT Idcommerce Service Solution, sebuah perusahaan penyedia warehouse dan jasa logistik yang berbasis robot, Charles Liem.
Dalam seminar ini, Charles memberikan penjelasan mengenai isu logistik dalam bisnis retail. Menurutnya, tanpa logistik, kebutuhan bisnis retail tidak dapat terpenuhi. Tanpa bisnis retail, bisnis logistik pun tidak dapat berjalan karena tidak ada barang yang diantar atau dipindahkan.
Selain itu, Charles yang sebelumnya bekerja di J&T, sebuah perusahaan pengiriman yang cukup diperhitungkan di Indonesia, juga membagikan pengalamannya dalam bekerja hingga akhirnya membuka perusahaan startupnya sendiri yaitu ID Commerce. Ia mengungkapkan bahwa sektor logistik menyimpan potensi besar untuk dikembangkan oleh perusahaan-perusahaan startup.
Charles, yang juga merupakan alumni President University angkatan 2012 berharap kisahnya dapat memperkuat pengetahuan mahasiswa dan menginspirasi mereka untuk menjadi pengusaha yang sukses.
