The Governor of the Sandaun Provincial Independent State of Papua New Guinea Tony Wouwou visited President University on Tuesday (10/22). This visit was received by the Vice Rector for Communication and Partnerships of President University Handa S. Abidin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D. and the Head of Partnerships Bureau Marissa Astika, B.Sc., M.B.A. During his visit, Tony Wouwou along with the Director of Education from the West Sepik Provincial Independent State of Papua New Guinea Daniel Yaman and the representative of the Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia in Vanimo, Papua New Guinea Henry Samosir visited various facilities at President University, such as university building, the library, and the student housing.

The possible partnerships that were formed between President University and Sandaun Provincial Independent State of Papua New Guinea may cover the area of education, research, community service, student exchange programs, and scholarship opportunities for Papua New Guineans who reside there. Tony Wouwou stated that he was proud that good relations between the two countries could be established. “It is an honor for the two countries to establish good relations through this partnership. In the future, our students will come to study at President University,” said Tony.

In line with Tony, Marissa explained that naturally as a neighboring country, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea should establish closer partnerships, especially in the field of education. Marissa also mentioned, “Future partnerships between President University and the Sandaun Provincial Independent State of Papua New Guinea will enrich the diversity at President University. Of course, this diversity will strengthen the international environment at President University.”

In addition, Tony revealed that he wished for the students to be able to practice their knowledge they got from President University later on to develop Papua New Guinea. (SL/APW)

 


 

Provinsi Sandaun Papua Nugini Jajaki Peluang Kerja Sama dengan President University

 

President University yang diwakili oleh Wakil Rektor Bidang Komunikasi dan Kerja Sama President University Handa S. Abidin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D. dan Kepala Biro Kerja Sama Marissa Astika, B. Sc., M.B.A. menerima kunjungan dari Gubernur Sandaun Provincial Independent State of Papua New Guinea Tony Wouwou di Gedung President University pada Selasa (22/10). Dalam kunjungan ini, Tony Wouwou bersama dengan Director Of Education dari West Sepik Provincial Independent State of Papua New Guinea Daniel Yaman dan Konsulat Republik Indonesia di Vanimo, Papua New Guinea Henry Samosir mengunjungi berbagai fasilitas di President University, seperti gedung universitas, perpustakaan, serta perumahan mahasiswa President University.

Kemungkinan kerja sama yang dibentuk antara President University dan Sandaun Provincial Independent State of Papua New Guinea dapat meliputi bidang edukasi, penelitian, pengabdian masyarakat, program pertukaran pelajar, dan kesempatan beasiswa untuk masyarakat Papua New Guinea di Provinsi Sandaun. Tony Wouwou mengungkapkan bahwa Ia bangga karena hubungan baik antara kedua negara dapat terjalin. “Ini ada sebuah kehormatan untuk kedua negara dapat menjalin hubungan yang baik melalui kerja sama ini. Ke depannya, mahasiswa kami akan datang untuk belajar di President University,” ujar Tony.

Senada dengan Tony, Marissa mengatakan sudah sewajarnya sebagai negara tetangga, Indonesia dan Papua Nugini menjalin kerja sama yang lebih dekat khususnya di bidang pendidikan. “Kerja sama antara President University dan Sandaun Provincial di masa depan akan memperkaya keragaman di President University,” ujar Marissa.

Lebih lanjut, Tony mengungkapkan bahwa ia berharap mahasiswanya dapat mengaplikasikan pengetahuan yang mereka dapat dari President University ke depannya untuk membangun Papua Nugini. (SL/APW)
