Writing international indexed journals is one of the tasks that must be fulfilled by every lecturer. However, it can be a challenge for the lecturers as they also have to teach and do community service at the same time. Responding to this, the Rector of President University Prof. Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto and Prof. Sony Heru Sinayo was present as speakers in the "Forum Group Discussion: Writing Scopus-Indexed Journal" held by Universitas Khairun, Ternate, North Maluku yesterday (19/9). In this Group Discussion Forum (FGD), Prof. Jony shared his experience in writing Scopus indexed journals.
Aside from being a speaker in FGD that was held at Universitas Khairun, Prof. Jony’s visit also to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between President University and Universitas Khairun. This MoU covers cooperation, education, research, and community service activities. Previously, the two universities had a close relationship because they were both selected to be recipients of Erasmus funding grants for Disaster Management. This collaboration is expected to realize the initial plans related to disaster management, which is building disaster resilience centers at each university.
Overall, through this signing of MoU and FGD, Prof. Jony hoped that many lecturers of Universitas Khairun will soon follow him to get their professorships. "I hope that in the future there will be a lot of collaboration between the lecturers of President University and Universitas Khairun that will benefit both universities," he said. (CC/SL)
Rektor President University Berbagi Pengalamannya Menulis Jurnal Terindex Scopus di Universitas Khairun, Ternate
Menulis jurnal terindeks internasional menjadi salah satu tugas yang harus dipenuhi setiap dosen. Namun, dengan segala kesibukan mengajar dan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat, hal ini menjadi tantangan tersendiri bagi mereka. Menanggapi hal itu, Rektor President University Prof. Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto bersama Prof. Sony Heru Sinayo hadir sebagai narasumber dalam acara "Forum Group Discussion: Writing Scopus-Indexed Journal" yang diadakan oleh Universitas Khairun, Ternate, Maluku Utara kemarin (19/9). Dalam Forum Group Discussion (FGD) ini Prof. Jony membagikan pengalamannya dalam menulis jurnal bereputasi baik dan yang terindex Scopus.
Selain menjadi narasumber FGD yang diadakan di Universitas Khairun, kunjungan Prof. Jony kali ini juga untuk menandatangi nota kesepahaman antara President University dan Universitas Khairun. Nota kesepahaman ini meliputi kegiatan kerja sama, pendidikan, penelitian, dan pengabdian masyarakat. Sebelumnya, kedua universitas telah memiliki hubungan yang erat karena sama-sama terpilih menjadi penerima hibah pendanaan Erasmus untuk Manajemen Bencana. Kolaborasi ini harapannya dapat mewujudkan rencana awal terkait manajemen bencana yaitu membangun pusat ketahanan bencana di masing-masing universitas.
Secara keseluruhan, melalui penandatangan nota kesepahaman dan FGD kali ini, Prof. Jony berharap akan banyak dosen-dosen Universitas Khairun segera menyusul dirinya untuk mendapatkan gelar profesor. “Saya harap di masa depan akan ada banyak kolaborasi antara dosen-dosen President University dan Universitas Khairun yang akan menguntungkan kedua universitas,” ujarnya.
