Reynaldo Arya (Law 2018) and Fitra Ariesta Wismaningrum (International Relation 2018) won Honourable Mention (3rd Place) in the London School Model United Nations (LSMUN) 2019 beating over the other 40 participants from 20 countries and universities. The competition was held from 21 to 22 June 2019 with the grand theme of "Humanity in a State of Anarchy".
Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation of a United Nations (UN) conference where participants role play as delegates to the united nations and simulate UN conference with the grand theme of "Humanity in a State of Anarchy". This conference includes two councils which are United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF).
In this year's LSMUN, the President University team was given the role as the Delegates of India in the council of UNICEF(United Nations Children's Fund) with the topic of Quality Education for Refugee Children. During the MUN, both Fitra and Aldo delivered brilliant and realistic ideas to solve problems that had become the main concern of the international committee.
Finally, these two young bright delegates successfully attain the Honorable Mention award for their success in presenting their opinions. Even though this is their first MUN, this accomplishment proves their capability to develop their knowledge in the world of diplomacy. (MB/PR)
Reynaldo Arya (Hukum 2018) dan Fitra Ariesta Wismaningrum (Hubungan Internasional 2018) memenangkan Honorable Mention (Juara 3) di London School Model United Nations (LSMUN) 2019 pada tanggal 21-22 Juni 2019. Mereka berhasil mengalahkan 40 peserta lainnya dari 20 universitas dari berbagai negara. Kompetisi ini diadakan dari 21 hingga 22 Juni 2019 dengan tema "Kemanusiaan dalam Keadaan Anarki".
MUN atau Model United Nations sendiri adalah simulasi konferensi negara-negara bersatu di mana para peserta berperan sebagai delegasi dari anggota negara-negara bersatu dan mensimulasikan komite PBB dengan tema yang sudah ditetapkan. Simulasi ini mencakup dua dewan yaitu Dewan Keamanan Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (DK PBB) dan The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
Dalam LSMUN tahun ini, tim President University mendapat peran sebagai Delegasi India di dewan UNICEF dengan topik Pendidikan Berkualitas untuk Anak-anak Pengungsi. Selama MUN berlangsung, baik Fitra maupun Aldo menyampaikan ide-ide cemerlang dan realistis untuk menyelesaikan masalah yang telah menjadi perhatian utama komite internasional. Dan pada akhirnya, kedua delegasi muda cerdas ini berhasil mendapatkan penghargaan Honourable Mention atas ketangkasan mereka memaparkan pendapat mereka. Meskipun ini adalah MUN pertama mereka, pencapaian ini membuktikan bahwa mereka akan memiliki masa depan yang cerah di dunia diplomasi. (MB/PR)
