International Relations Study Program (Prodi) and Law Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, President University (Presuniv) collaborated to hold a guest lecture with the Somali Ambassador to Indonesia, Ahmed Mohamud Mohamed, on Wednesday, March 20 2024. In his guest lecture, Ambassador Mohamed discussed the topic "Bilateral Relations Between Somalia and Indonesia". The Guest lecture was held at Theater 3, President University Convention Center (PUCC), Jl. H. Usmar Ismail, Kota Jababeka, Cikarang,and was attended by Presuniv Chancellor Handa S. Abidin, SH, L.LM, Ph.D, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities Dr. Mohammad Syafi'i Anwar, Head of the Law Masters Study Program (Kaprodi) Dr. Dra. Fennieka Kristianto, SH, MH, MA, M.Kn., and Head of International Relations Study Program Dr. Jeanne Francoise, as well as students from several study programs.

               In his opening remarks, Handa said, “Indonesian culture has many similarities with that of Somalia. One of them is the habit of wearing sarongs." In his guest lecture, Ambassador Mohamed confirmed this. He said, "Somalia and Indonesia do have cultural similarities. "Not just sarongs, but also food and also the way our people act."

               Ambassador Mohamed then explained further about Cultural Diplomacy. He said, one way to carry out Cultural Diplomacy is through education. “Presuniv has built cultural ties between Indonesia and Somalia through education. "This will improve cultural relations between Indonesia and Somalia," he explained. It is important to continue to maintain relations between Indonesia and Somalia, and even improve them. “We need to create many opportunities to expand relationships between individuals to improve relations between countries.
