Cikarang, Indonesia—President University (PresUniv) held a general lecture themed “Afgshanistan Update and Beyond” that was held in B Building, President University (20/12). Dr. Arief Rachman, M.D (Indonesian Ambassador to Afghanistan), Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto, S.E., M.M., M.A (Rector President University), Handa S. Abidin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D (Vice Rector for Communications and Partnerships), and approximately 100 students and lecturers were coming to the event.

Indonesia has decided that its foreign policy in 2017 will focus on intensifying interactions with other countries to protect the nation`s interests, security, ideological objectives, and economic prosperity.

Indonesia has a soft role that is sharing the best practices, as the basic involvement of Indonesia in the peace process of Afghanistan.

“Actually Afghanistan is almost similar to Jakarta, but media is always focus on the bomb which happen there,” said Dr. Arief.

During his visit to Indonesia, President Ashraf Ghani request to the Government of Indonesia to actively participate as a mediator in the Afghan Peace Process.

President Ashraf Ghani asked the contribution of Indonesia of ‘peace building’ in Afghanistan. He also asked the possibility that Indonesia become the host for ‘Afghan-led Peace Process’ between Afghanistan Government, HPC (High Peace Council) and Taliban.

On the same day, PresUniv signed an agreement with Kardan University, Afghanistan. The agreement was signed by Roeen Rahmani, Presiden Kardan University dan Rektor PresUniv, Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto in Jababeka Golf, Cikarang.

The agreement will cover student exchange, internship programme, and general lectures.

“President University is looking forward to new possibilities partnerships with Kardan University. As relatively young universities, both of us could work together to create something great for students and universities,” said Marissa N. Cikarang, Indonesia—President University (PresUniv) menyelenggarakan kuliah umum yang bertajuk “Afghanistan Update and Beyond” yang diselenggarakan di Gedung B, President University (20/12). Dr. Arief Rachman, M.D (Duta Besar Indonesia untuk Afghanistan), Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto, S.E., M.M., M.A (Rektor President University), Handa S. Abidin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D (Wakil Rektor Bidang Akademik President University), dan sekiranya 100 mahasiswa dan dosen hadir dalam acara ini.

Semenjak Indonesia memutuskan kebijakan luar negeri tahun 2017 yang berfokus pada interaksi intensif dengan negara-negara lain untuk menjaga kepentingan negara, Indonesia telah berperan aktif dalam proses perdamaian di beberapa negara seperti Myanmar dan Afghanistan.

Indonesia memiliki peran yang halus yaitu berbagi praktik terbaik, sebagai dasar keterlibatan Indonesia dalam proses perdamaian Afghanistan.

“Sebenarnya Afghanistan itu hampir sama dengan Jakarta, namun pemberitaan media terus berfokus pada bom disana,” ungkap Dr. Arief.

Selama kunjungannya ke Indonesia, Presiden Ashraf Ghani meminta kepada Pemerintah Indonesia untuk secara aktif berpartisipasi sebagai mediator dalam Proses Perdamaian Afghanistan.

Presiden Ashraf Ghani meminta kontribusi Indonesia 'membangun perdamaian' di Afghanistan. Ia juga meminta kemungkinan bahwa Indonesia menjadi tuan rumah untuk ‘Proses Perdamaian yang dipimpin Afghanistan’ antara Pemerintah Afghanistan, HPC (High Peace Council) dan Taliban.

Pada hari yang sama PresUniv menadatangani kerja sama dengan Kardan University, Afghanistan. Persetujuan kerja sama tersebut ditandangani oleh Presiden Kardan University, Roeen Rahmani dan Rektor PresUniv, Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto di Jababeka Golf, Cikarang.

Kerja sama tersebut diperkirakan akan meliputi pertukaran pelajar, program magang, dan kuliah umum.

"President University menantikan kemungkinan kemitraan baru dengan Kardan University. Sebagai universitas yang relatif muda, kedua pihak bisa bekerja sama untuk menciptakan sesuatu yang hebat bagi mahasiswa dan universitas," kata Marissa N. Astika, Direktur kerja sama luar negeri PresUniv.
