Cikarang, Indonesia – President University welcomed 20 important guests from Taiwan (26/7), amongst them were Dr. Jiang, Yi-Huah, the Chairman of Fair Winds Foundation, who was also the Former Premier of Executive Yuan, Dr. Yen, Kuang-Shih, the President of Fair Winds Foundation (Former Minister of Transportation and Communications), Andrew Hsia, Director of Fair Winds Foundation (Former Chairman of Mainland Affairs Council), Jaclyn Tsai, Director of Fair Winds Foundation (Former Minister without Portfolio), and Dr. Wei, Kuo-Yen, Consultant of Fair Winds Foundation (Former Minister of the Environmental Protection Administration). Hosted by Handa S. Abidin, Vice Rector for Communication and Partnerships of President University, the visit talked on how both parties could establish stronger partnerships in the future.

According to Handa, President University has established partnerships with three universities from Taiwan at the moment. On top of that, right now PresUniv hosts a student from Taiwan who is studying in Management Study Programme.

“We hope that Dr. Jiang can bridge more partnerships with universities from Taiwan”, said Handa

Dr. Jiang was aware that there are a lot of Indonesian students who are studying in Taiwan and there’s only a handful of Taiwanese who study in Indonesia, who one of them is studying in President University. He is sure that there will be more Taiwanese students to come and study in Indonesia, especially in President University.

Lin Yu Chi, the existing student in President University who came from Taiwan admitted that aside of the significant improvement in English, she also got the chance to learn Bahasa Indonesia. Along with Mandarin, these language skills, according to her, will be helpful to her future career specially to secure great job in Indonesia.

“I wish there will be more students coming from Taiwan to study in President University after this meeting”, said Yu Chi.


Cikarang, Indonesia - President University menyambut 20 tamu penting dari Taiwan (26/7), di antaranya Dr. Jiang, Yi-Huah, Ketua Fair Winds Foundation yang juga mantan Perdana Eksekutif Yuan, Dr. Yen, Kuang-Shih, Presiden Fair Winds Foundation (Mantan Menteri Perhubungan dan Komunikasi), Andrew Hsia, Direktur Fair Winds Foundation (Mantan Ketua Dewan Urusan Daratan), Jaclyn Tsai, Direktur Fair Winds Foundation (Mantan Menteri tanpa Portofolio) , Dan Dr. Wei, Kuo-Yen, Konsultan Fair Winds Foundation (Mantan Menteri Administrasi Perlindungan Lingkungan). Dipimpin oleh Handa S. Abidin, selaku Wakil Rektor bidang Komunikasi dan Kerja Sama President University, Kunjungan tersebut membahas bagaimana kedua belah pihak dapat membangun kemitraan yang lebih kuat di masa depan.

Menurut Handa, President University telah menjalin kemitraan dengan tiga universitas dari Taiwan saat ini. Selain itu, saat ini PresUniv mempunyai seorang pelajar dari Taiwan yang sedang belajar di Program Studi Manajemen.

"Kami berharap agar Dr. Jiang dapat menjadi jembatan untuk kerja sama dengan lebih banyak universitas lain di Taiwan", kata Handa.

Dr. Jiang menyadari bahwa ada banyak siswa Indonesia yang belajar di Taiwan dan hanya ada sedikit orang Taiwan yang belajar di Indonesia, yang salah satunya belajar di President University. Dia yakin akan ada lebih banyak siswa Taiwan untuk datang dan belajar di Indonesia, terutama di President University.

Lin Yu Chi, mahasiswa President University yang berasal dari Taiwan mengakui bahwa selain adanya peningkatan bahasa Inggris yang signifikan, Ia juga berkesempatan belajar Bahasa Indonesia. Seiring dengan bahasa Mandarin, kemampuan bahasa asing ini menurutnya akan sangat membantu karir masa depannya. Khususnya untuk mendapatkan pekerjaan yang bagus di Indonesia.

"Saya berharap akan ada lebih banyak siswa yang datang dari Taiwan untuk belajar di President University setelah pertemuan ini," ungkap Yu Chi.
