Thursday, 15 January 2026—Following the Inauguration of the Indonesia–China Partnership Institution (ICPI), the event continued with the Indonesia–China High-Level Dialogue on Sinology, China Studies, and People-to-People Exchange, serving as a platform to deepen academic collaboration and cross-cultural engagement between the two countries.
During the dialogue, Vice Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Prof. Stella Christie highlighted Indonesia’s strong commitment to expanding research cooperation with China, particularly through joint initiatives involving universities and industry partners. She emphasized that many Indonesian research funds have been utilized in collaboration with Chinese universities, reflecting the growing depth of bilateral academic engagement.
Prof. Stella shared that she has undertaken more than five official visits to China within the year, underscoring Indonesia’s openness and eagerness to strengthen cooperation. “This is a concrete manifestation that we are very open and genuinely eager to work together with our partners in China,” she said, expressing optimism that the establishment of ICPI will further streamline collaborative efforts.
She also stressed the importance of strengthening the linkage between academia and industry, noting that China’s research ecosystem is supported not only by government funding but also by private sectors and industrial partners. Through ICPI, she expressed hope that research collaboration between Indonesia and China will become more integrated and impactful, delivering meaningful outcomes for both societies.
