On Friday, August 2, 2024, the Study Program of Accounting, Faculty of Business, President University (Presuniv), in collaboration with CPA Australia and PT Glico Indonesia, organized the President University Accounting Day (PUAD). The event was held at the Charles Himawan Auditorium, 5th Floor, Building A, President University Campus on Jl. Ki Hajar Dewantara, Kota Jababeka, Cikarang, focusing on the theme “Role of Accountants in an AI-Driven Business.”

According to the Head of the Study Program of Accounting, Mila Austria Reyes, CPA, MBA, it is crucial for students to keep a close watch on the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. “What you learn during this seminar is vital for career development, including sharpening the vision of the career you will pursue in the future, especially after graduation,” said Mila.

The event featured two speakers: Oscar Syarif, Chief Operating Officer of Ledgerowl, and Melisa Yosefine, Financial Controller and Commercial Business Partner of PT Glico Indonesia. Melisa emphasized that students should not fear AI taking over their jobs. “Companies, whether big or small, will always need accountants because accounting is the language of business,” she said. Meanwhile, Oscar explained that AI is merely a tool to assist in work. “We cannot continue to work using traditional methods. We must evolve and adapt to technological advancements. This is crucial for our careers,” he stressed. (Graciella V, PR Team. Report: Evander Stevanus. Photos: Damar Satriawan).
