The Internship & Career Center (ICC) of President University held a seminar titled Mastering Interpersonal Skills for Career Success on June 24th, 2025, at PUCC Fablab. The event featured Flora Febriani, Human Supervisor at PT Kalbe Farma Tbk., as the keynote speaker. The seminar aimed to explore the importance of interpersonal skills in the workplace, such as communication, collaboration, and adaptability, core competencies essential for students to succeed during internships and in their future professional careers.
In her presentation, Flora emphasized the significance of having a growth mindset, which allows individuals to be more open to receiving feedback and assistance. She highlighted how internship experiences play a crucial role in shaping professionalism, as students are directly exposed to real-world challenges. Citing examples from Kalbe Farma Group's internship program, Flora demonstrated how interns showed significant growth within just 30 to 60 days, especially in their contributions to the company’s digitalization processes. Internships, she explained, not only enhance technical skills but also foster teamwork and critical thinking abilities.
Furthermore, Flora addressed the increasing need for effective communication in today’s hybrid and remote work environments, where face to face interactions are limited. She encouraged the audience to distinguish between a “Boss,” who focuses solely on results, and a “Leader,” who actively supports team development. Introducing the concept of Radical Candor, Flora explained how to deliver honest feedback with empathy and care. According to her, a great leader not only achieves outcomes but also leaves a lasting positive impact and meaningful relationships within the team. This seminar served as a powerful reminder that interpersonal skills are not optional, but fundamental to building a healthy and productive workplace culture. (Roffizul H, PR Team. Photo: Roffizul H)
