Thursday, 30 October 2025—SetSail BizAccel, President University’s business accelerator, in collaboration with the university’s newest Doctor of Management program, held a seminar titled “Inspiring the Next Generation: Continuing the Family Business Legacy.” The event took place in Room A429, 4th floor of Building A, President University Main Campus, Jababeka City, Cikarang. The session featured Inda Helen, Finance Director at PT Wilisindomas Indahmakmur, who shared practical insights on sustaining and strengthening family businesses across generations.
Inda emphasized the need for adaptability in family-owned companies, noting that leadership transitions must align with changing times. “Founders were great in their era, but if they do not keep up with current developments, a new generation is needed—one that can adapt and move with the changes,” she explained. She added that in a family business, each family member’s strengths must be acknowledged. Some may have the capability to run the business, while others may be better suited to becoming passive shareholders and entrusting operations to professionals with the appropriate expertise.
Inda concluded by underscoring the importance of unity within family enterprises. “In a family business, everyone must share the same understanding. Conflicts may happen internally, but externally the family must remain united,” she said. (Graciella V, PR Team. Photo: SetSail BizAccel Team)
