Wednesday, 29 October 2025—SetSail BizAccel, President University’s business accelerator, held an online seminar titled “Empowering Next Generation Leaders through Effective Communication: From Nervous to Next Level” via Zoom. The session aimed to help students strengthen their public-speaking abilities, boost confidence, and improve communication skills essential for future leadership roles.

The seminar featured Jeremia Lumbantobing, CEO of Dvara.co and EXTRAVAGANZA Group, who shared key insights into overcoming fear and speaking with impact. Jeremia explained that people often feel nervous because they perceive public speaking as a threat, which activates the body’s fight-or-flight response. This survival instinct, he noted, is natural and universal. “Once we understand this feeling, we can take back control,” he said. “Awareness turns fear into focus.” His message encouraged participants to acknowledge their anxiety rather than avoid it, using self-awareness as a tool to improve performance.
