Thursday, 26 February 2026 — President University organized a Seminar & Discussion of The Defense Heritage Newest Book under the theme “Unpacking Defense Heritage Through Literature.” The forum served as a platform to explore the content of a book centered on defense heritage, bringing together academics and practitioners for interdisciplinary discussion.

One of the key perspectives was delivered by Ridwan, Ph.D., a lecturer at Indonesian International Islamic University, who examined defense heritage through the lens of political and cultural dynamics. He explained that defense heritage should not be viewed solely as historical remnants, but as an active instrument of cultural and heritage diplomacy.

Ridwan further elaborated that collective memory is socially constructed and institutionalized through physical representations such as monuments. “These structures serve not only as commemorative symbols but also as tools that shape public understanding of history,” he stated.

According to him, defense heritage plays a significant role in shaping both domestic legitimacy and global perception. It functions as a medium through which nations present their historical narratives, reinforcing identity and influence in the international sphere. He also emphasized that defense heritage can be understood as a form of political memory infrastructure, highlighting its role in organizing and projecting national narratives in both domestic and international contexts.
