During his scientific oration at the inauguration ceremony of President University’s 7th and 8th professors on Tuesday, 21 April 2026, Prof. Dr. Jhanghiz Syahrivar emphasized that marketing should not only be viewed as a business tool, but also as a force that shapes society.
He is a Professor of Marketing with expertise in Marketing Innovation and Consumer Ethics. In his oration, he highlighted how marketing practices often influence social values and consumer behavior. Through the perspective of macromarketing, he explained that marketing must also be examined from ethical and social perspectives, not solely from business effectiveness.
He stated, “Marketing is not merely an economic tool, but a social force that can shape values and the realities within society. It can strengthen society, but it can also damage it.”
Notably, Prof. Jhanghiz is a first-batch alumnus of President University and also became the university’s first alumnus to achieve the title of professor.
