Wednesday, 24 September 2025—Students from the International Relations Study Program of President University attended a seminar titled Defence Intellectual Community: Strengthening the Nation’s Narrative and Order for Sovereignty and Prosperity. The event took place at President Lounge, Batavia Tower, Jakarta, and highlighted the presence of various important national figures.

Among the speakers were Marsekal TNI (HOR) Purn. Donny Ermawan Taufanto, M.D.S., Deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia; Dr. Mutiara Panjaitan, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., from DPP APKASINDO; Dave Akbarshah Fikarno Laksono, M.E., Chairman of Ikatan Alumni Universitas Pertahanan RI; Prof. Dr. Satya Arinanto, S.H., M.H., Professor of Law at Universitas Indonesia and Co-Founder of ACT; Prof. Hikmahanto Juwana, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D., Professor of Law at Universitas Indonesia; and Prof. Dr. Ir. Budi Susilo Supandji, Founder of Aliansi Cendekia Tagaroa and Chairman of President University Foundation.

This seminar highlighted that the threats to a nation’s independence were not limited to military aggression. Today, they also included narrative and legal warfare that could weaken a country’s unity. It was emphasized that only strong ideological roots could keep a nation standing firm.
