Friday, 5 December 2025—President University’s founding vision and the enduring role of its alumni were reaffirmed during the Friday Night Reunion held at the President Lounge, Batavia Tower, Jakarta. The event served as a moment to reflect on the university’s identity while emphasizing the shared responsibility of alumni in shaping President University’s future.
SD Darmono, Founder of President University, explained that the name President University was the result of a careful discussion on building a globally oriented institution. He shared that the founders aspired to establish a university that welcomes students from around the world, guided by a name that reflects a clear vision and is universally recognized. That vision, he said, is to create a place where tomorrow’s leaders come together and are formed, which ultimately led to the name President University. He also highlighted the meaning of alma mater as the mother of knowledge, raising the question of who will continue to make the university greater, better, and more respected over time.
Dr. J. Satrijo Tanudjojo, Senior Advisor of the President University Foundation, emphasized that alumni are central to answering that question. He noted that President University now has around 12,500 alumni who represent a significant collective strength. Beyond contributing to rankings and accreditation, he stressed that alumni play an essential role in enhancing the university’s quality, reputation, and impact, and in ensuring that President University continues to grow as a better institution for future generations.
