Wednesday, 26 November 2025—President University, through the Center for Project and Initiatives (CPI), collaborated with HANDAL and its partner companies to hold the Handal Gathering Series 2025: Empowering West Java’s Industries to the Global Market through the Strategic Adoption of Industry 4.0 and Robotics at the President University Exhibition Center (PEC).
The event opened with remarks from Dr.-Ing. Erwin Sitompul, S.T., M.Sc., Director of the Center for Project and Initiatives, who highlighted the relevance of strategic technology adoption in today’s industrial landscape. He explained that the increasing use of artificial intelligence has enabled robots to perform advanced functions such as vision-based object handling using cameras and AI-driven robotic assembly, reflecting significant developments in Industry 4.0.
The main session was delivered by Wisnu Adi Pamungkas, Engineer Specialist in Industry 4.0 at PT HANDAL and National BNSP Assessor for the Industrial Robot Scheme. He discussed the implementation of Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things (IoT) in industrial environments, particularly how real-time data monitoring can be accessed even when operators are not physically present at the production site. He also noted that the industry is gradually transitioning toward Industry 5.0, emphasizing collaboration between humans and artificial intelligence as well as the importance of personalization in manufacturing processes.
Representing HANDAL, Ir. Budhi Setiawan Hoetomo, Branch Manager of HANDAL Cikarang Representative Office, emphasized the importance of industry involvement in supporting education. He explained that collaboration between industry and universities is essential to ensure students gain exposure to current technologies and industry practices. As part of this collaboration, HANDAL supports President University by providing Epson robot demonstration units to strengthen students’ hands-on learning experiences. (Graciella V, PR Team.
