Saturday, 4 October 2025—President University officially premiered its Doctor of Management study program, marking a historic milestone as the university’s first-ever doctoral program. The event took place at the Fabrication Laboratory (Fablab), President University Convention Center (PUCC), Jl. H. Usmar Ismail, Kota Jababeka, Cikarang.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Adhi Setyo Santoso, S.T., M.B.A., Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Research, and Innovation emphasized the significance of the occasion, stating that the launch of the doctoral program represents a major step forward in the university’s academic development. “This is our first doctoral program, a milestone for President University. What we need to do now is to extend our knowledge, and our professors are ready to guide and assist you,” he said.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anton Wachidin Widjaja, S.E., M.M., Dean of the Faculty of Business, reminded the students of the challenges and commitments required to complete the program successfully. “Your doctoral program is a journey. You are expected to publish at least two Scopus-indexed journal articles within three years. This is not an easy journey,” he said. He further noted that in many universities, the completion rate for doctoral programs is relatively low, with only about 50 percent of candidates successfully graduating.
Adding to this, Dr. Stephanus Remond Waworuntu, M.B.A., Head of the Management Study Program, emphasized the importance of self-motivation and personal commitment in achieving academic excellence. “We always thrive for excellence, but this excellence relies on you. Everything will rely on you. The center of gravity is you,” he stated.
With our doctoral program, each student is encouraged to explore their respective research interests and areas of specialization, supported by the university’s academic guidance and resources. It is expected that within the next three years, President University will proudly mark the graduation of its first cohort of doctoral students. (Graciella V, PR Team. Photo: Marchell Harist)
