Monday, 17 November 2025—President University officially launched the President University Golf Academy in collaboration with Jababeka Golf & Country Club and the Sulaiman Inspirasi Membangun Foundation. The inauguration ceremony, held at Jababeka Golf & Country Club, Jababeka City, was attended by several distinguished guests, including Handa Abidin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D., Rector of President University; M. Ariza Dahmin, Director of Jababeka Golf & Country Club; Alfin Sulaiman, Chairman of the Sulaiman Inspirasi Membangun Foundation; and Suharsono, Secretary General of the Indonesian Golf Association (PGI).
In his remarks, Handa expressed that this year’s initiative carried special significance. “During this week’s sessions, more than 1,000 students came and tried hitting a golf ball for the first time, and a similar number is expected to return for the upcoming sessions,” he said proudly. With the establishment of the President University Golf Academy, he hopes that more students will be encouraged to explore golf—whether through available coursework or by joining the newly launched official academy.
Speaking at the event, Alfin highlighted golf’s unique characteristics compared to many other sports. “Golf is an effective medium for building professional networks. Through relaxed yet meaningful interactions on the course, players can expand their connections, open doors to collaboration, and even discover unexpected career opportunities,” he explained.
President University has its own distinct advantage that is not owned by other universities. “Unlike many other institutions, President University students have access to a professional golf course,” Ariza stated. With this facility, students are encouraged to fully utilize the opportunity to learn and develop their skills. Mastering golf can open various future pathways, including for those who aspire to pursue careers as athletes.
Suharsono reminded attendees that the world of golf extends far beyond competitive play. Behind the sport lies a broad and growing ecosystem of professions. “I hope the establishment of the President University Golf Academy will nurture a young generation not only skilled on the course but also capable of excelling internationally and bringing Indonesia to the global stage,” he concluded.
