As part of the 25th Dies Natalis celebration of President University, the President University International Dinner (PUID): “A Taste of Kenya: Pilau, Viazi Karai, Kaimati” was held on Wednesday, 22 April 2026 at the President Executive Club (PEC), 2nd Floor.
The event highlighted the culinary richness of Kenya through traditional dishes such as Pilau, Viazi Karai, and Kaimati. Pilau is a fragrant spiced rice dish commonly cooked with aromatic spices such as cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon, often served with meat or vegetables. Viazi Karai refers to crispy fried potatoes coated in spiced batter, a popular coastal snack known for its savory flavor. Meanwhile, Kaimati are sweet, deep-fried dough balls typically coated in sugar syrup, offering a dessert with a soft texture and rich sweetness.
Attended by students and the wider academic community, the International Dinner became a meaningful moment within the Dies Natalis series, strengthening bonds among members of the university community and marking a memorable milestone in President University’s 25th anniversary celebration.
