Usmar Ismail, Jababeka City. The event featured H.E. Md. Tarikul Islam, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Indonesia, who delivered a lecture on “Bilateral Relations between Indonesia and Bangladesh.”

Ambassador Islam stated that there are several priority cooperation areas between both countries. “These include agriculture and food security, sustainable fisheries, higher education and training, energy and infrastructure, tourism, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and climate change,” he stated. Although these are the main cooperation areas, there are several collaborations in other sectors that have not been mentioned.

As an ambassador, one of his tasks is to strengthen the bilateral relations between Indonesia and Bangladesh. One of the efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Indonesia was carried out through public diplomacy and cultural engagement. These include cultural festivals, the establishment of a Bangladesh Corner at Muhammadiyah University Yogyakarta, International Mother Language Day events, Pahela Baishakh celebrations, Bangladesh Day, and various food festivals organized by the Embassy of Bangladesh. These initiatives also serve as a way to introduce Bangladeshi culture to the Indonesian community and deepen cultural understanding between the two nations. (Graciella V, PR Team. Photo PR Team)
