December 22, 2025

Wednesday, 3 December 2025—President University hosted another session of the President University Ambassador Lecture Series at the Fabrication Laboratory (Fablab), President University Convention Center (PUCC), Jl. H. Usmar Ismail, Jababeka City. The lecture featured Dr. Suwit Mangkhala, Chargé d’Affaires of Thailand to ASEAN, who delivered a talk titled “Why ASEAN Matters: Strategic Presence and Engagement Beyond Borders.”

In his lecture, Dr. Suwit highlighted the contrast between ongoing conflicts and humanitarian suffering in various parts of the world and the relative peace that has been maintained in Southeast Asia. He noted that while many regions continue to face instability, Southeast Asia has so far avoided regional wars, making it an important example of sustained regional stability amid global uncertainty. However, he warned students not to become complacent, emphasizing that peace requires continuous effort and awareness. “The absence of war today does not guarantee peace in the future,” he stated.

Dr. Suwit encouraged students, particularly those interested in international relations and political analysis, to remain vigilant and proactive in understanding regional dynamics. “As a political analyst, you have to be aware. We need to prevent a new war from happening,” he emphasized. (Graciella V, PR Team. Photo: PR Team)
