Tuesday, 18 November 2025—President University held a Guest Lecture titled “The Role of the Directorate General of Legal Administrative Affairs (AHU) in Indonesia’s Development,” featuring Dr. Widodo, S.H., M.H., Director General of Legal Administrative Affairs at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (KEMENKUMHAM RI). The event took place at the Charles Himawan Auditorium, President University, Jababeka.
During the lecture, Dr. Widodo discussed two major areas of legal services and citizen protection managed by the Directorate General of Legal Administrative Affairs (Ditjen AHU).
He first highlighted the serious issues faced by Indonesian citizens abroad, particularly in Manila, where many enter mixed marriages that are illegal or unregistered. Such cases often lead to complications in determining citizenship status and obtaining birth certificates for their children. To assist affected families, the government provides informal education support through CSR partnerships.
Dr. Widodo also emphasized the vital role of the Balai Harta Peninggalan (BHP), which manages assets, including properties overseas, left by individuals with no heirs. BHP ensures that these assets are safeguarded and returned to the Indonesian state, preventing foreign governments from claiming them. (Graciella V, PR Team. Photo: PR Team)
