Monday, 24 November 2025βPresident University held another episode of President University Nusantara Dinner (PUND): Batak Edition, at the President Executive Club (PEC), Jababeka. The event aimed to introduce and explore the richness of Batak traditional dishes and some cultural performance experience, with contributions from the Naposo Batak (NABA) student community.
The dinner served curated traditional Batak dishes, including Lapet, a sweet rice cake wrapped in banana leaves; Mie Gomak, thick noodles seasoned with signature Batak spices; Itak Gurgur, a traditional steamed rice snack; and Sendor, a local Batak delicacy. Each dish reflected the distinctive flavors and culinary traditions of the Batak people.
Cultural performances further enriched the experience, featuring traditional Batak dances such as Tortor Mangalo-Alo and Tortor 6 Puak, accompanied by well-known Batak songs including Anakkon Hi Do Hamoraon Di Au, Aut Boi Nian, and Mardua Holong. These performances allowed participants to engage more deeply with Batak cultural expressions beyond cuisine alone. (Graciella V, PR Team. Photo: PR Team)
