Thursday, 9 October 2025—President University, through its Guest Lecture Series (PUGL), held an event titled From Law Student to Top Lawyer Powered by AI at the Charles Himawan Auditorium, 5th floor of Building A, President University Main Campus, Kota Jababeka, Cikarang. The session featured Fritz Paris Hutapea, CEO of Hukumku and son of renowned Indonesian lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea; Billy Tjiptoning, CTO of Hukumku; and Michael Jagadpramana, COO of Hukumku.
During the lecture, Fritz explained how legal research often takes a long time to complete, emphasizing the difficulty of finding accurate information and complete data. He noted that with today’s technology, various legal programs can assist students and professionals in their work. “AI may eventually replace some jobs related to law, but using it will help us to think outside of the box,” he said.
Billy encouraged the students to embrace innovation, saying, “If you do something, you need to do it better than others. Use technology like Google, GPT, and many others to do yours better.” He added that AI should not be viewed as a replacement for human work but rather as a tool to enhance it.
Meanwhile, Michael highlighted the importance of precision in the legal field, noting that “a wrong writing can cause a catastrophic problem.” He emphasized that this is why human judgment and responsibility can never be replaced by AI. (Graciella V, PR Team. Photo: Marchell Harist)
