President University Guest Lecture (PUGL) Discusses Modern Extradition Law with Cahyo Rahadian Muzhar

Tuesday, 25 February 2026 — President University held a President University Guest Lecture (PUGL) at the Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab), Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab), President University Convention Center, President University Main Campus, Jababeka City. The lecture titled “The Application of Double Criminality and Human Rights Principles in Modern Extradition Law” was delivered by Cahyo Rahadian Muzhar, S.H., LL.M., former Director General of General Legal Administration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Indonesia (2018–2024).

During the session, which took the form of an experience-sharing discussion, Cahyo Rahadian Muzhar shared practical insights into various mechanisms of international legal cooperation. These included extradition, mutual legal assistance, transfer of sentenced persons, and transfer of proceedings. He explained that such mechanisms play an important role in cooperation between countries to address cross-border crimes, which have become increasingly complex in the era of globalization.

He also described how the criminal justice system involves multiple interconnected institutions, including the police, prosecutors, and other law enforcement authorities. Each institution holds specific roles and responsibilities within the legal process, ranging from investigation and prosecution to the execution of court decisions. According to him, it is important for law students to understand that different branches of law are closely interconnected.
