President University Founder SD Darmono Highlights AI as a Tool for National Transformation at President Club Series
July 14, 2026

Tuesday, 19 May 2026 — During the President Club Series titled "Strengthening National Resilience in the Era of Artificial Intelligence" at the Menara Batavia President Lounge, S.D. Darmono, Founder of President University and Founder of Jababeka, emphasized that Artificial Intelligence should become a catalyst for Indonesia's national transformation rather than merely a technology to consume.

According to Darmono, Indonesia possesses significant advantages, including its demographic bonus, abundant natural resources, large domestic market, and high level of AI adoption. He stressed that these strengths should be leveraged to improve education, healthcare, industrial productivity, agriculture, and public governance.

“Will Indonesia only become an AI user, or will Indonesia become a nation that uses AI to strengthen sovereignty, productivity, and the welfare of its people? In my opinion, that is our greatest challenge,” he said. Darmono also encouraged forums such as the President Club Series to produce tangible outcomes, including research collaborations, innovation centers, digital talent development, and strategic policies that strengthen Indonesia's position in the global AI ecosystem.
