Friday, 8 May 2026 — Rey Abraham, M.Sc., LPDP Awardee, University of Manchester alumnus, Lecturer of International Relations, and Director of President University Student Housing (PUSH), shared his experience pursuing postgraduate studies abroad during the Alumni Sharing Session 2026 held at President University Main Campus, Jababeka City.

Drawing from his experience as an LPDP awardee and former President of the Indonesian Student Association in the United Kingdom (PPI UK), Rey explained that scholarship applications should be approached as an investment pitch. According to him, applicants need to clearly demonstrate who they are, what they have achieved, and how they will create impact in the future.

“Know yourself and use that information to promote yourself,” he advised. He encouraged students to articulate not only their academic ambitions but also the contributions they plan to make during and after their studies. He further emphasized the importance of aligning personal goals with national development priorities and quantifying potential impact whenever possible.

Rey also highlighted the value of developing targeted expertise and building a track record through relevant experiences. According to him, scholarship providers are looking for candidates who can prove their worth through past achievements while showing strong potential for future contributions.
